Made In The Black Country Exhibition
Made In The Black Country Exhibition.
Precision Chains were honoured to be invited to attend the Made In The Black Country Showcase held at Portcullis House, to celebrate goods manufactured in the Black Country and sold across the world.
The Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership joined forces with Dudley North MP Ian Austin for the second time to showcase goods manufactured in the Black Country to MPs at the Houses of Parliament.
The strong attendance comprised of a range of Government Officials, from those with a full time role in Parliament through to Business representatives and Local Authority.
Sharing samples of different chains we manufacture at the Houses of Parliament.
Of the 455,400 people working in the Black Country, 103,725 are in
manufacturing jobs across 7,565 high value manufacturing businesses, so
it was a great opportunity to talk about the history of Precision Chains
Ltd, especially in our 60th year, to be proud of the different chains we make and the development of skills,
product and customer relationships over the past years.
The event gave us the chance to talk about our links with Transport for London,
providing new chains for the many escalators on the Underground system
and our latest progress into refurbishing chains to support longevity
and environmental targets.
Managing Director, Nick Landon said: "With so many exciting opportunities on the horizon, where we are looking to grow our export market share, it was a great way to showcase our capability at the heart of the UK Government.
Many MPs were interested in our activity where we supply our products to Cane Sugar factories and sustainable agricultural as far away as Africa and SE Asia.
Ian Austin MP who invited us to attend the event said: "Manufacturing is a really important
part of the Black Country’s heritage but I want to show that hi-tech
manufacturing, science and technology has a bright future in the region
too. I want people in London to understand that we are bringing new industries and new jobs to the area to strengthen the local economy and boost prosperity.”
It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the Black Country and also present what Precision Chains Ltd brings to manufacturing in the area.
